THE12: DIRTY DISHES + MAGICAL ROOMS

Monday message on stepping inside 'rooms' of growth, despite piles of dirty dishes in the sink.
2

Dear Juice reader, listener, and lover…

Here’s a lovely lil’ Monday message for you. 💐

Human to human. Me to you.

I’ve been doing my best to piece together long-form writing (I have so many stories swirling in the background), but all that wants to come out is…my voice. Marching orders from the universe — I’m falling in line.

If that’s not poetic justice for owning the third pillar of THE12 (The Voice), I don’t know what is. Instead of my normal storytelling in written form, I’ll be sending short-form videos over the course of the next week. Today’s message is inspired by the messy kitchen sink of my favorite bookstore in Lisbon — the one I go to every week for writer’s hour.

Messy Kitchens

Dirty Dishes

Letting go of Perfection

Rooms of Substance.

Opportunities to learn and grow.

Enjoy.

practicing belonging — the depth of the dinner table

That moment of connectedness — that moment of being with others — is a moment of not worrying about the dirty dishes in the sink, but instead celebrated belonging. The depth of what goes on around a dinner table far outweighs the nagging feeling of cleaning the dishes.

metaphorical messes

These moments will teach you how to be — how to be with yourself — when you decide presence is more important than perfection. When all you want to do is clean the dirty dishes, but instead you choose to be in a room of belonging. You choose to care so much more about the experience of being connected than fixing what needs to be perfect.

practicing belonging — the depth of the dinner table

You soon realize…the dishes can wait.

practicing belonging — the depth of the dinner table

The experience of the room far outweighs the need for every single detail to be rout with perfection.

Leave the dishes in the sink,
